Women in Brewing Talk

Calling all beer lovers! Join us for a women in beer talk with Tami Plourde, part owner of one of Wisconsin’s smaller craft breweries. In this talk she will share her story and recognize other women who together are opening doors for a new generation of women in the beer industry. The talk will last approximately 45 mins with a Q and A session at the end.

Amery Ale Works is partnering with Amery Area Public Library to host the event. The Bar(n) Brew will be available along with three beers from Pearl Street Brewing on tap. All proceeds from the Bar(n) Brew and Pearl Street beer sales will go to the Amery Area Public Library.

Oktoberfest at the Bar(n)

Join us for our very first Oktoberfest! Feel German for a day while you play Hammer-Schalgen -game in which participants drive nails into wood, eat brats and pretzels, and sample our selection of beers. Customers will also have the chance to decorate their very own German Lebkuchen (Gingerbread) cookie.  

In the evening, we will have the band Three on the Three performing live on our patio from 7 pm - 10 pm. Stop by to enjoy a pint and all the festivities that Oktoberfest has to offer!

Artful Evening

Join us for an Artful Evening at Amery Ale Works. All three levels of the Bar(n) will have art on display.

The event, organized by Somerset native and amateur photographer, Josie Coen, will provide a night of connections through art.

Coen’s style of macro photography, which focuses on nature, will be on display along with some personal photos. Together with Coen’s work will be oil paintings by St. Croix Falls native, Daniel Osborne and poetry readings by nine poets, all ranging in experience, style and age.

Pieces of work from each of the artists will also be available for purchase. The night is made possible by the sponsorship from Fiat Lux LLC – Residential Window Cleaning Service. Have a pint and enjoy some artwork!

Note: Food and beverage available for purchase at the Ale Works.  Join us for dinner or drinks and stay for the art event.

Live Music: Nici Pepper

Nici Pepper will be back at the bar(n) this summer performing on Saturday September 1st from 7:00-10:00pm.  Weather permitting, she will be outside on the patio.  Come round out your labor day weekend at the bar(n) listening to good tunes.

Nici Peper is best described as a Rootsy, Americana Folk singer-songwriter influenced by the tradition of classic storytellers. In August 2016 she won the title of Minneapolis “Most authentic" artist when she competed in the nationwide contest sponsored by Wholly Guacamole. Her acoustic Americana has been described as vintage and soulful and her lyrics are open and honest. She is always invited back and creates a following at every venue she performs.  Her hit song, "Ahead of the Storm”, has been a favorite on Twin Cities radio 89.3 The Current. She has opened for Elvis Monroe, Hobo Jim, and among several other acts, for Brett Michaels.

Hailing from the Twin Cities, Minnesota, The Broken Heartland String Band plays music that is wholly American in its roots. With anchors in blues, old-time, bluegrass, and honky-tonk, the band brings energy and soul with a selection of cover tunes and originals blended from the diverse musical backgrounds of the band's members. The Broken Heartland String Band is out to provide a good time with wholesome, partner-swaying, knee-slapping, hootin' and hollerin' tunes.

Live at the bar(n) on Saturday August 18th from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Weather permitting, the group will be playing outside on the patio.  Come join us for a fun night of music, food and brews.

Come experience a state of deep relaxation and meditation. Feel a renewed sense of being truly alive! 

The focus will be on gentle yoga and breathwork followed by a full immersion into the rich sounds of the gong, singing bowls, shruti box and more. Don’t miss this opportunity for mental & physical reset. 

Thomasina and Bob Fisk are mind body enthusiasts with backgrounds in yoga instruction, music and mental health. They have been called to the power of sound through personal experience with the instruments and training in a variety of wellness modalities. 

The sounds created by the instruments can provide the mind with a break from thinking patterns that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, depression and sleep disturbances. 
Allow the sounds and vibrations of the instruments to assist you in releasing what no longer serves you. Give yourself permission to create space for the new! 

What to bring: Yoga mat, water bottle, blanket, pillow or cushion and eye mask if desired.

When: Sunday July 22nd from 4:30-6:00pm; there will be 30 minutes of gentle yoga and breathwork followed by 60 minutes of sound meditation.  Please note, the yoga space at Amery Ale Works is located on the upper floor of an old bar(n) and is a fairly warm space in the hot summer months.

Live Music: Miss Myra and The Moonshiners

Miss Myra is a threat on every level. Her golden voice will bring you from rock bottom to ecstasy and back while her driving guitar rhythm holds the Moonshiners together. Her style of hard hitting swing guitar is reminiscent of Django Reinhardt. She also draws influence from legendary blues guitarists such as Leadbelly and Blind Boy Fuller. If you let her near a piano, you'll hear virtuosity from ragtime to Lizst. In addition to her musical talent, she is known for lighting up the dance floor with tradtional American jazz dances such as lindy hop, charleston and blues.

Miss Myra and the Moonshiners will be live at the Ale Works Bar(n) on Saturday July 7th from 7:00-9:30pm.  Weather permitting, the full band will be outside on the patio.  Come enjoy a wonderful jazz music, delicious food and a pint.
