There’s something special about the shift into autumn — the longer evenings invite us to slow down, and we naturally begin to turn inward.

Danielle, owner of My Best Friends Bookshelf, and I are excited to present a special evening celebrating the season with yoga, books, a light bite and good company — all tucked into the cozy atmosphere of Amery Ale Works.

Our Evening begins in the candlelit loft at Amery Ale Works, where we’ll settle in for yoga practice.

But first, you’ll have a little date to choose…

📚 Your Blind Date with a Book

Danielle has curated a special collection of books just for the evening. Each one will be wrapped and displayed on a table so the cover — and title — remain a mystery.

Your only introduction is the handful of clues displayed on the outside of the package. Maybe your clues lead you to a romance, a suspenseful thriller, a cozy escape or a story you never expected to choose.

Take your time. Read the clues. Follow your mood. Choose the book that feels like it might be your perfect match.

And there’s a little surprise tucked inside each one, too — something to make your book date even more fun.

You won’t know exactly what you’ve chosen until you unwrap it… but that’s part of the adventure. 💕📖

🧘‍♀️ A Yoga Experience Woven with Stories

After you select your blind date - we’ll move into 60–70 minutes of gentle yoga, gradually making our way toward deep stretches (yin) and long restorative rests.

Crystal singing bowls will accompany the stillness, creating a deeply meditative atmosphere. And woven into those longer pauses, I’ll share short readings from a selection of books available through My Best Friends Bookshelf.

The stories become part of the practice — little glimpses into another world while your body rests and your mind gets a chance to wander.

🍷 Afterwards… Time to Connect

After our yoga experience, we’ll have time to connect, talk books and enjoy a little Moody Blue pairing.

The Ale Works team has selected a pairing for the Event: A light charcuterie cup along with a delicious blueberry wine. Enjoy it as it is, or add a little seltzer to lighten it up — depending on your mood. 😉

We’ll have time to browse Danielle’s collection of books available for purchase, chat about our Blind date book selections and participate in a book exchange if you’d like to bring a book you’ve finished.

And if you’re not ready to head home, you’re welcome to stay and order from the regular Ale Works menu while we continue visiting and enjoying the evening.

What’s Included

• 60–70 minutes of autumn-inspired yoga — soft flow, deep yin & restorative pauses

• Crystal singing bowls woven into the meditative experience with selected book readings intertwined with the yoga practice

• Blind Date with a Book, curated by My Best Friends Bookshelf

• A little surprise tucked inside your mystery book

• Book exchange — bring a book to trade if you’d like

• Light snack provided by Ale Works: charcuterie cup & blueberry wine or blueberry wine with seltzer or tap mocktail, (Beverage substitutes available upon request, upgrade fees may apply).

• Ample time to browse books available for purchase / exchange

• Option to order from the regular Ale Works menu afterward.

🍂 What to Bring

Come comfortable and ready to get cozy. We’ll be spending time in long, restful poses, so bring anything that helps you settle in and stay warm.

• Water

• Yoga blocks

• 2 blankets — lap blankets or Mexican-style blankets

• Optional: a yoga bolster or 2 firm pillows stuffed into one pillowcase

• Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily and layer up if you tend to get chilly.

I have some mats, blocks, blankets and bolsters available to borrow. These are available first come, first served, so please let me know if you need to borrow props when you register.
